Fuel Injector Basics

As you're probably already aware, the fuel injectors on your 1996 3.1L Buick Century are located underneath the intake manifold plenum. So when it comes to testing them, at first glance it seems like it'd be quite the challenge.

But the cool thing is that you can test them without having to remove the intake manifold plenum. We can do that right at the 10-pin fuel injector wiring harness connector, which is located behind the alternator. This connector gives us easy access to all six fuel injector circuits, so we can perform just about any electrical test we need to.

One thing to keep in mind is that the fuel injector harness side of the connector (the side that goes to the injectors) has male terminals. The engine wiring harness side (the PCM side) uses female terminals.
