Fuel Injector Basics

The 2000-2005 3.1L V6 Buick Century comes with a super convenient access point for testing the fuel injectors, even though they're located underneath the intake manifold plenum. This access point is the 16-pin fuel injector wiring harness connector, which is located behind the alternator.

From this connector, we can perform all sorts of electrical tests on the fuel injectors without having to remove the intake manifold plenum. We might eventually have to remove it, but to begin our diagnostic, we can perform all of our basic electrical tests right at this 16-pin connector.

One thing to keep in mind is that all of our fuel injector tests are done on the connector with the male terminals, which is the fuel injector harness side. The engine wiring harness side, which is the PCM side, has the female terminals.
