NOTE: Use new cylinder head bolts.
Before installing the cylinder head bolts, clean and oil their threads. Use 5W30 engine oil to lubricate the cylinder head bolt threads.
NOTE: Install the cylinder head gasket without any type of sealer.
Cylinder Head Torque Specifications | |
---|---|
Step 1 | 14 Ft. Lbs. (20 N.m) NOTE: Bolts must be tightened in sequence. |
Step 2 | 29 Ft. Lbs. (40 N.m) |
Step 3 | 36Ft. Lbs. (50 N.m) |
Step 4 | Loosen all bolts 3 turns in the sequence shown (see illustration above). |
Step 5 | Tighten all short bolts to 15-22 Ft. Lbs. (20-30 N.m) |
Step 6 | Tighten all long bolts to 30-36 Ft. Lbs. (40-50 N.m) |
Step 7 | Tighten all bolts an additional 175°-185° (DO NOT use a torque wrench!) |
