Throttle Position Sensor Basics
The PCM provides 5 Volts DC on the yellow with blue stripe (YEL/BLU) wire to both the throttle position sensor, fuel tank pressure sensor and the EGR valve lift sensor (on VTEC-E only).
If you're testing for a short to Ground, a short to power, or an open in this circuit then you'll need to unplug both sensors to test this circuit.
The PCM provides a sensor Ground on the green with black stripe (GRN/BLK) wire to a total of 6 components (including your Civic's throttle position sensor).
If you're testing for a short to Ground, a short to power, or an open in this circuit then you'll need to unplug all of the sensors/components this sensor Ground wire connects to.
Where To Buy The TPS And Save
You can buy the throttle position sensor for your Honda Civic in just about any auto parts store but you'll spend a whole lot more because they mark it up quite a bit.
My suggestion is to buy it online or at least comparison shop to get an idea of how much it costs and how much you can save.

Not sure if the above throttle position sensor (TPS) fits your particular Honda Civic? Don't worry, once you get to the site, they'll make sure it fits by asking you the particulars of your vehicle. If it doesn't fit, they'll find you the right one.
