Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Wiring Diagram (SOHC)
NOTE: The throttle position sensor (TPS) wiring diagrams and info in this page apply only to 1996, 1997, 1998 Dodge/Plymouth SOHC/DOHC 2.0L Neon.
The PCM provides 5 Volts DC on the PPL/WHT wire to both the throttle position sensor and IAT/MAP sensor (intake air temperature/manifold absolute pressure sensor).
If you're testing for a short to Ground, a short to power, or an open in this circuit, you'll need to unplug both sensors to test this circuit.

The PCM provides a sensor Ground on the BLK/LT BLU wire to a total of 9 components (including your Neon's throttle position sensor).
If you're testing for a short to Ground, a short to power, or an open in this circuit, you'll need to unplug all of the sensors/components this sensor Ground wire connects to.
Where To Buy The TPS And Save
You can buy the throttle position sensor for your Dodge/Plymouth Neon in just about any auto parts store but you'll spend a whole lot more because they mark it up quite a bit.
My suggestion is to buy it online or at least comparison shop to get an idea of how much it costs and how much you can save.
